Buffalo Music Players

This page is a byproduct of music in the All American City, Buffalo NY. It was conceived on the day when bassist of Folk Faces, Patrick Jackson, sat down with me and told me his entire story in the music scene in Buffalo. Upon hearing that I was waiting for graduation to start writing articles, and generally vibing on how cool it’d be to report on the local scene, he decisively and correctly determined that anyone could wait, if you want something, you have to do it.

So there you have it, my inspiration, an exhausted musician and a pint of Oktoberfest at Cafe Aroma on Elmwood Avenue, Buffalo, New York. Over time some of the most serious and hardworking musicians in Buffalo have sat down with me, where I promised both them, and the reader, a meandering conversation about their art, schedule, pros and cons, favorite topics, best road food and general way of life that music has taken us. It’s a very fun, if maybe scary, probe of what many already know: that the power of music and the trails of those who use it to earn a living is a continuing narrative that should be studied as closely as any other facet of society.

With that, I hope you follow this journey into what may be, to you, the only thing that matters.
